F4A232 The Open Sea Happy Birthday

Hello, this is my 2nd post for today.  While I waited for my other card to dry, I played along with today's free 4 all challenge, which was to make a one or two layer card.  I pulled out my world map and the open sea stamp sets.  I inked the world map stamp using soft suede ink onto my crumb cake card base.  Next I stamped the ship from the open sea in night of navy onto a white strip.  I added my sentiment and attached to the card base.  I added thin strips of navy cardstock, a couple of little banners and some bakers twine.  I think this would make a great masculine card.  Anyway, thanks for looking!  Have a great weekend.  Here is the link to the challenge:  http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/free-all-f45/f4a232-one-two-8-1-14-a-t590346.html

Mix79 Glued (or gelled in this case)

Good morning.  I have been up since about 4 am this morning, so I decided to come down to my crap room and play.  I looked at today's challenges on Splitcoaststampers and thought it was the perfect opportunity to get inky!  First I played along with the mixability challenge, which today is to use glue or gel medium and inks, paints, gelato's or re-inkers.  I decided to use my gel medium mixed with a drop of melon mambo re-inker.  It is a bit too bubble gummy for me and I wish I had used a different color, but oh well.  I also used a new (to me) stencil from Memory Box.  It is quite intricate and I think I was a little rough putting down my gel medium over the stencil, as my coverage is not great, but I guess it adds to the overall design.  I added the black scallop strips to tie in with the black sentiment and thread.  It is quite glossy in real life, but my photo doesn't capture it.  It took quite a bit of time to dry, so while I waited for that, I played along with the free for all challenge too!!  That post will be up next.  Enjoy your weekend!!

Blended Bloom

Good morning!  I am popping on with another card that I made recently.  I love this flower by Stampin' Up called Blended Bloom.  I heat embossed it on white cardstock with white embossing powder then colored it in using a sponge dauber and pool party and bermuda bay ink pads.  I added a little early espresso to the middle, cut it out and popped it up.  The sentiment is from Four You.  I also added a little strip of silver glitter paper and part of a doily.  Clean and simple!

That's it for today.  I am going out with a couple of friends to a new (to me) craft store up in N. VA today!  Looking forward to finding new crafty goodies!!  Happy hump day!

Long time no post!!!!

Wow!  I can't believe how long it has been since I have posted anything!  It is not like I haven't been making cards, I have, I just don't seem to have had the time to post any.

Today I am sharing a sweet little birthday card that I made for a little boy with terminal cancer and all he wants for his birthday is cards.  How could I NOT make a card for him?  I saw the story on Facebook.  The article is here:  http://www.wkrn.com/story/26061204/5-year-old-battling-cancer-only-wants-cards-for-birthday

I used some Lime Twist paper by My Minds Eye and my Up, Up and Away stamp set from Papertrey Ink.  I hope this sweet boy gets hundreds of cards to put a smile on his face!!

The address to send the cards to if you are so inclined is:
Danny Nickerson
PO Box 212
Foxboro, MA 02035

I hope to post more of my cards today and over the next few days!

MIM #165 Get Well Soon

I know, 3 cards in 2 days, WOW!  I have been having fun in my crap room this week and have been trying out a couple new techniques to me.  I saw the Make It Monday video on Papertrey Ink's blog and thought I would give it a try.  Betsy Veldman is SO talented!!!  I was actually going to make this for the color challenge on SCS yesterday too, until I realized that one of the colors I was using was completely off, lol!!  Anyway, I need to practice this technique, but I like the artsy effect it achieves.

I just got a box of new goodies from PTI on Monday and this Bigger Blooms set was in there and I thought it would be perfect for this water color technique.  I have never participated in any of the MIM challenges before, but I look forward to participating in more in the future.

Well thanks for stopping by!  Happy Hump Day!!

CC479 Sending Well Wishes

I bought this pretty stamp by Inkadinkado the other day from AC Moore for $2.  I couldn't resist, lol!!  Anyway, I saw today's color challenge on http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/color-combinations-f43/cc479-crisp-pistachio-garden-5-20-2014-a-t587803.html and wanted to play along.  The colors are beautiful!  I stamped my flower using archival ink then watercolored it using crisp cantaloupe, pisctachio pudding and wild wasabi as I didn't have any garden green.  I added a little bit of more mustard to the center and then some very fine ink splatters.  I stamped my sentiment from my new Papertrey Ink set Wet Paint III, which is a fabulous new artsy sentiment set and mounted it onto a pistachio pudding card base.

I actually made 2 other cards for today's challenge, but the first one I used the wrong colors, lol!  I used calypso coral instead of the crisp cantaloupe.  Oops!

Anyway, that's it for now.  I hope to post my other cards tomorrow, if not later this evening.  Thanks for stopping by!

CAS Just Because

Hello!  It's been a while since I posted anything, so I thought I would post a couple of cards that I have made for some challenges and also just for fun.  The first one that I am posting is for the clean and simple challenge and also the technique lovers challenge from yesterday over on Splitcoaststampers.  The CAS challenge was a water theme and the technique challenge was to stamp using an embossing folder.  I picked out a damask embossing folder and inked it up using  shabby shutters and broken chine distress ink pads.  I then spritzed it with water and placed some watercolor paper over it and pressed down.  I love the soft watery effect that I got.  I popped up my sentiment panel and added a few sequins and that was it!  Very quick and simple!  I will be trying this technique out on other embossing folders.  Oh my, my wheels are turning imagining all the different colors and patterns!!!

Oh, @#$!

Hello, happy Cinqo De Mayo!  I hope you enjoyed some yummy Mexican food.  I made homemade enchiladas and guacamole and it was yummo!!!

I was playing around today and made this fun little card.  I have had this Naughty Nautical stamp from Simon Says Stamp for a little while now and I picked up this fun anchor paper while I was at Michaels today.  They seemed perfectly matched to me!  What do you think?

The colors match much better IRL as usual with me, my photo editing skills need help.  Anyway, thanks for looking!

Diffused Birthday Wishes

I told you I would be back with another card!  This is another one that I will be doing in one of my classes.  I recently bought the embossing diffuser by Sizzix and I love the effect you get!!  Too cool!  This really is a very clean and simple card and took no time at all to put together.  I used a pretty embossing folder from Darice and the oval shape that comes in the diffuser pack.  The large sentiment from Papertrey Ink packs a punch!  I added some washi tape at the top and the bottom, tied some fun embroidery thread around the card and added some gold sequins and that was that!

Thinking of you

It has been a while since I posted anything, so I thought I would jump on and share a card that I will be teaching in one of my upcoming card classes.  This one uses a fun stencil from Simon Says Stamp and some gel medium.  I also reached for some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.  I haven't played with that in forever!  I thought this would make a good thinking of you card or even a nice sympathy card.  I like to keep some sympathy cards on hand, as I find them hard to make when I need them.

The butterflies were punched out of glossy cardstock and colored using some alcohol inks.  I adhered the main panel onto a black card base.

That's it for now.  I hope to be back tomorrow with another card to share!

Wishing You A Lovely Day

Hi, I hope you have had a wonderful weekend.  The weather here in Viriginia has been lovely this weekend!  Close to 80 degrees and sunny!  I feel like we went from winter straight to summer.  I am hoping we get some more spring like weather this week.

I am sharing another of the cards that we made in my card class this month.  I like to play around and experiment with different products and see what happens.  I picked up some sparkle texture by Martha Stewart at Michael's the other week and wanted to see what I could do with it.  I first colored a white piece of cardstock using some distress ink with my ink blending tool.  Then I used a pretty damask stencil by Donna Downey and rubbed some of the sparkle texture through it.  It is very thick and grainy, but it looks lovely.  I scraped off the excess and removed the stencil.  The bird and branch is a punch by Stampin' Up.  I colored my pieces using distress ink and then rubbed on some sparkle textued using my fingers.  The sentiment if from Papertrey Ink and the frame stamp is by Fiskars.  I popped the bird and the sentiment frame up.

I sponged on some vintage photo ink over the raised areas to give it a vintage feel.  I am really happy with how this came out and I will be on the look out for more fun supplies to use on my cards.  The sparkle texture can be found in the Martha Stewart paint section in Michaels.

Hope you all have a great week!!

Damask Hello

Hello!!  It's been a few days since I posted a card and I wanted to share this happy hello card that was one of the cards that we made in my card class this month. We have had a long winter here in Virginia and this yellow and white damask just screams spring to me.  I paired it with some pretty silver shimmer paper, gray paper and some fun silver embroidery thread that was fun to fray!  I added the hello die cut from Papertey Ink and a few dew drops and that was it!  Fun, happy, done!!

Sorry the lighting on this one is horrible!!  It is much prettier and springier, (is that even a word, lol?) in real life!

I hope spring has sprung where you live!  Tomorrow we are supposed to get more of the same!  It makes me happy!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I hope to be back soon with another card.  I have a bunch made, I just need to take photos and edit them.

Dry Embossed Hello

It is a wet, dreary day here in Virginia.  What better way to spend my time on a day like this than to play in my crap room!  I have several card classes this week and have been doing lots of prep work for them, but I found time to play along with this week's CAS (clean and simple) challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  The challenge is to use dry embossing.  Not a problem, I have a TON of embossing folders and I just ordered a whole bunch of Anna Griffin embossing folders and dies from HSN.  They arrived the other day and they are GORGEOUS!!!!!  I should NOT be allowed to watch that channel!  Just sayin' lol!!!

I embossed a white panel of cardstock  and die cut the sentiment by Avery Elle out of gold pow paper.  I also die cut, stamped and popped my floral image from Pretty Peonies by Papertrey Ink.  You can't see it in the photo but I used  my wink of stella clear pen all over the flower and leaves.  Subtle but very pretty IRL.  I also just bought some fun silver and gold embroidery thread and used the gold on this card.

I had fun making this one and am happy with how it turned out!  Well hopefully the weather improves this week.  I have a new doggy that likes to go on nice long walks!!  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Hello

Good morning, I have another super clean and simple card to share today.  I just received the new speech bubble die by Lawn Fawn and also the hello die by Avery Elle and decided to pair them together and make this card.  The speech bubble was die cut using some pretty paper from My Minds Eye Cut & Paste 6x6 pad.  I added some solid pink twine and some more homemade enamel dots and that was it!  It seriously took me 5 minutes to make this card, but I like how it turned out!

Our new dog has a lot of energy, so I am going to take him out for a walk and hopefully wear him out a little.  He is such a sweetie!  I will be back later to post another card or two!

Get Well Soon

Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  We adopted a beautiful dog on Friday and he is so sweet!  He seems to have a wonderful disposition.  So we have spent the whole weekend bonding with him and making him feel like part of the family :)

I went to an all day crop on Friday with a bunch of awesome ladies and I actually finished 6 cards!!  I don't normally go to crops as I find them a little overwhelming because of all the 'stuff' I have to bring with me, lol!

Anywho, here is one of the cards that I made.

I made this one with a very dear friend in mind who just spent almost a week in the hospital.  I created the background using a stencil from Heidi Swapp and some embossing paste.  While the stencil was still in place, I spritzed some Heidi Swapp color shine over it.  My little enamel dots are also home made.  They are made with melted perler beads.  SO FUN to make!!!

I will be posting the rest of the cards over the next couple of days along with the cards that I will be teaching in my upcoming card class.

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Hello Friend

Oops!  I forgot to post this yesterday.  I recently bought some inktense pencils which I love and they are so easy to use and blend.  I pulled out an oldie stamp set that has not seen any love in a long, long time and colored it using my pencils on watercolor paper.  After I had colored them, I decided it needed a little something, so I used a Tim Holtz stencil and some embossing paste to give it a little texture.  Added a little tag with a stamped sentiment and popped it up.  Adhered it to a kraft base and some white dash lines down the side.  I also added a little shimmer using my wink of stella pen, but the photo doesn't pick it up.  That is it!

I am going to a crop tomorrow (which I don't normally do), so I am trying to get all my supplies together and decide what I want to work on.  I am sure I will take too much and not use half of it, lol!   Anyway, I am looking forward to hanging out with a great group of ladies!!

Enjoy your day!

CAS Happy Birthday

Woohoo, second post for me today!  Another quick CAS card that I made yesterday.  I absolutely love this stamp set from Papertrey Ink, The Sweet Life!  So pretty and so easy to use.  I have neglected a lot of my stamps for way too long.  This set is a 3 step stamping set and I love how this came out.  I have the die set for it too, and I'm not sure why I didn't use it lol!  Anyway, very quick, very clean and very simple but I think quite elegant.

The large scale sentiment is perfect for this too I think.  I love the Think Big Favorite line of stamps from Papertrey Ink.  Look at all that white space....... it makes me happy!

Celebrate Today

Sorry for not posting in a while.  I seem to have been busy.  Doing what, I am not quite sure as I quit my job and am no longer working, lol!  It feels good and it was the right decision for me.  I am enjoying being a Domestic Goddess, haha!  I have also started teaching classes at my home and have a wonderful group of ladies that come.

I have been getting lots of crafty time in and making lots of cards, I just need to post them now.  Today I have a very clean and simple birthday card.  My poor little dress form die has not had any love in a very long time.  I die cut it out of some pretty paper from MME and decided to give her a tuille skirt.  Fun, huh?  I embossed the bottom half of the white panel, tied my ribbon and added a sentiment.  Voila, done!!  I just love how elegant the dry embossing looks!

Embossed Vellum

So glad I had a chance to play along with the technique lovers challenge on SCS today.  The challenge was to emboss on vellum, either dry emboss or heat emboss.  I chose to heat emboss a stamp from harvest berries by PTI using grass ink and clear embossing powder.  I also heat embossed my sentiment by Amuse.  Please excuse the bad photo.  The colors are really off.  I couldn't seem to fix them.  The embossed panel is adhered to a spring moss panel with washi tape.  I love using vellum but find it very challenging to adhere as it is very unforgiving as far as adhesive goes.  In hind sight, I should have used a darker cardstock under the vellum, but spring moss was calling my name, lol!  The sentiment is also heat embossed using gray flannel memento luxe ink and reads:  thanks for touching my life in so many wonderful ways.

Thanks for looking!  We have another snow day here in Virginia tomorrow, so hopefully I can play along with more challenges!!  Have a great night!

Natural Neutrals

It is a jammie kind of day today.  It is March 3rd and we have a snow day here in Virginia.  I don't know about you, but I am ready for Spring!!

Anyway, today's CAS challenge on Splitcoaststampers is to use neutrals with a dessert option of using a natural element.  I think I have it covered, although the end result didn't exactly come out on paper as I envisioned.  Not as clean and simple as I was hoping for.  First I used a woodgrain stencil by Prima and some light modeling paste.  Once the paste was dry, I sponged on some antique linen and gathered twigs distress ink.  I die cut some leaves using a die from Papertrey Ink and some new burlap paper that I picked up.  It is backed with paper and quite sturdy.  I sponged some distress ink over the leaves then popped them up on my card.  I added my sentiment and that was it.

Well, I hope you are all warm and cozy.

Water Colored Ranunculus Field

I had some time this morning before going to work and decided to play along in a couple of challenges over at Splitcoaststampers.  This weekend I was honored to be chosen as this weeks Featured Stamper!  I was so excited and so surprised. Who, little old me?  Really?

It was a blast to see which cards everyone CASEd, and it was fun to look back at my own gallery at some of my earlier cards.  I took 3 years off from posting on SCS, but I am glad to be back and hopefully will be posting on a more regular basis and playing along with more challenges.  I also wanted to play along with yesterday's CAS challenge, which was to use any color other than white or neutral as your card base.  Since I tend to always reach for white card bases that actually was a challenge, lol!  I ordered some fun stamps online and decided to water color my main image using my distress inks and pearlized water.  My sentiment is from the new anniversary set from Paptertrey Ink called Bold Bouquet.  I can't wait to play with the beautiful images in this set.

Thinking of You

I had a little bit of free time today and decided to play along with Splitcoaststampers technique lovers challenge.  I love alcohol inks, but don't use them very often so today's challenge was just the push I needed to get them out and play along.  The challenge was to use your alcohol inks on glossy paper and then either using canned air or a straw (I used a straw) blow the ink around the page and then smoosh another piece of glossy paper on top of it.  Then you were to die cut it, so I reached for my Turning a New Leaf die set (also hasn't seen any love in a very long time!) and cut it out.  I used a variety of inks and a bit of silver and I love how it turned out!  I stamped my image in gray, popped my die cut leaves up and colored some gems using a spectrum noir pen and that was it!  I will definitely be trying this technique again.

That's it for today!  Thanks for looking and have a great day :)

I Love You So Much

I am so happy that I got to play along with a couple of challenges on splitcoaststampers today.  The free 4 all challenge was a valentines challenge and the mixability challenge was to use hearts.  I managed to cover them both using my Tim Holtz new hearts stencil and some embossing paste and a sentiment from Papertrey Ink!  I am seriously loving my stencils and embossing paste right now and today I used my pearlescent paste which is SO pearly and pretty.  I did add 2 colors of Heidi Swapp color shine over the stencil before I removed it and it looks really pretty IRL.  I also die cut some flowers out of canvas and colored them using my gelato's!  So fun!!

It looks like I am ahead of the game and have my valentine card for my hubby next week!  Woo hoo!!!

I am having fun playing in challenges again.  It has been too long!  Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  I am working tomorrow and then teaching a fun card class at Scrapdoodles on Sunday!!

CAS258 Tags or Tabs

Hello!  I had a chance to play after work today with the CAS challenge over on SCS (splitcoaststampers).  Today's challenge was to use a tag or tab on our cards.  I LOVE using tags on my cards and have a pile of tags that I have die cut using my cameo just begging to be used! This also fits Friday's free for all challenge on SCS which was to use the word love (mine says loved, but I think it will qualify!)  I went extremely CAS today using lots of white space with a couple pops of color.  I stamped the butterfly from inkadinkado onto marshmallow cardstock using archival ink, then used gelato's to color it in.  I cut it out and then added some shimmer using my wink of stella pen in clear over the entire butterfly.  I added a second butterfly that I had punched out of silver pow glitter paper and popped a black sequin in the middle.  The sentiment is from Februrary's card kit by Simon Says Stamp and is called thinking of you.  I embossed that using silver embossing powder.  I also added some fun washi tape.  The skinny silver and white striped washi tape is from Little B and came in another card kit from SSS and the black and white washi tape is from my stash.  I also added 3 score lines above the bottom little strip of washi tape but I don't think my camera picked it up!  I love how crisp this looks in real life.  I wish my photography skills were better!

I checked out the challenge before I went to work this morning and couldn't wait to come home and play!  Thanks for stopping by!

Glittered Embossing Paste, Oh My!!

Boy oh boy!  I can't seem to stop playing with my stencils and embossing paste.  I made this card last night and I just love how it came out!!  After applying the embossing paste to the stencil, I sprinkled on some fine glitter while the stencil was still in place.  The effect just makes me HAPPY!!!  I then die cut my butterfly and clear embossed the image (both from Papertrey Ink).  I added a piece of washi tape and some twine, stamped my sentiment and placed a few sequins on.  Mounted it to my card base and voila, another clean and simple card.

Sorry for the poor quality photo, it doesn't capture the beauty of the glitter over the embossing paste.  I had to take the photo inside as it is only 13 degrees here today!  Brrrrrrrrr!!!!!!  Anyway, if you haven't tried embossing paste and stencils yet, I challenge you to go ahead and get pasty!!  Maybe you will be hooked like I am :)

CAS257 Stenciled Love

Good morning and happy Monday!  I have learned so much from the awesome online class that I have been taking.  I literally want to stencil everything right now, lol!  Anyway, I was inspired by a beautiful card that Debbie Hughes made yesterday (I am always inspired by her work) and decided to put it to work for today's CAS (clean and simple) challenge, which happens to be a color challenge.  The colors were perfect for what I had in mind especially after seeing Debbie's card yesterday.

I used a fun mask from Studio Calico and some pearlescent embossing paste.  It is really pearly IRL.  Next I sprayed some color shine by Heidi Swapp on my panel and then flicked some more on using a couple of colors.  The heart is another Heidi Swapp product that is alterable.  Once you spray it, there is a resist that appears, it is pretty cool!  I added a few enamel dots and popped my panel up using LOTS of foam tape.  I love how this came out!

Anyway, I am getting ready to go to work, but hopefully I will be back with another card later on.  I was busy making lots of cards this weekend getting my samples ready for my upcoming card class.

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

Spritzed Happy Birthday

Whoa!  Two cards in one day!  This is what happens when you get up at 3 am, lol!  This is another card inspired from the online class that I am taking.  This is also one of the cards that I will be teaching in my own card class at Scrapdoodles next month.

I picked up several of Tim Holtz' new stencils yesterday when I was at work and used one on this card.  I loved Julie Ebersole's card and wanted to use some of my dylusions sprays.  I used london blue and pure sunshine on this one.  I also loved how Debbie Hughes embossed the sentiment on vellum for her card.  I was a spraying fool this morning and now have TONS of panels sprayed with various color combinations using different stencils and then another pile with the ink sponged on.  I love the different effects they create.

The sentiment was stamped on vellum using memento luxe ink and then clear embossed, then I popped it up and added the sequins.

This was another fun one to make and I hope the ladies that come to my class will have fun making it too!!

Off to put some more cards together!  Enjoy your day :)

You Are Loved

Woohoo!!  I am back with another card.  One of my goals this year is to upload more of my cards and blog some more.  I think I am definitely off to a good start (for me, ha!)  Anyhoo, I am taking another online card class and this one is all about stenciling and creative ways to use them.  I love stencils and I love learning new and different ways to use them.  For my card today, I sponged ink through my brand new heart stencil by Tim Holtz that I had already die cut.  I used a couple different colors creating a bit of a gradient effect.  The sentiment is from the Thinking Of You stamp set that was in my February Card Kit by Simon Says Stamp. I kept this very clean and simple and just added a little washi tape, twine and some embossing along the bottom of the card.  I rounded the bottom corners just to soften it up a bit.

Well, that is it for me this morning.  I have been up since 3 am again, so I have other cards to share later on.  Hope you all enjoy your weekend!

Watercolored Thank You

Another card from the other day.  I hadn't played with my gelato's for some time, so I decided to break them out.  I had tried stamping with them before, but was never happy with the results that I achieved.  I am much happier with the way this card turned out.  I watched a tutorial on someone's blog recently and it made more sense.  Sorry, for the life of me I can't remember whose blog.  Anyway, I spritzed up an old Stampin' Up stamp set called Inspired By Nature with water and then colored with various gelato's directly onto the wet stamp.  Next I stamped my image onto water color paper and let it dry.  I then flicked a couple of different colors of Heidi Swapp color shine over it.  I stamped my sentiment from Simon Says Stamp (Flower Friend) using black archival ink and adhered it to my card base and voila!  I love the water colored/artsy look of this.

Anyway, that is it for me today.  I am off to work, but hope to find some more time to play this weekend.

Have a great weekend.

Thanks Friend

Snow days are good for something!  I have had lots of time to play in my crap room so I am posting another card that I made yesterday.  I played along with the sketch challenge on SCS yesterday and this is what I came up with.  I clear embossed the tiny hearts background stamp by hero arts on my pink card base then used some fun paper by Basic Grey's Hey Girl line.  I stamped my sentiment from Simon Says Stamp (square sayings) onto my patterned paper which I had die cut using my spellbinders dies, then popped that up over the banner strip.

Gratitude

Happy Hump Day!  Brrrr!  It is freezing here today.  We were supposed to have a big snow storm come through yesterday, so they closed the schools, the federal government and lots of other places.  Well, we really didn't get very much at all.  Maybe 2 inches, but the temperatures have been bitterly cold so it is not melting and all the side streets are very icy.  Schools were closed again today and they have already closed them for tomorrow too!  YIKES!

So, I have had lots of time to play in my crap room and have made quite a few cards that I hope to share with you all over the next several days.

The one I am sharing today is a pretty little simple card.  I was playing around with a stencil from Simon Says Stamp and some embossing paste.  After I applied the embossing paste and while the stencil was still in place, I spritzed some Heidi Swapp color shine (seafoam) over it.  I then removed the stencil and dried it with my heat gun.  I die cut a butterfly from my beautiful butterflies die set by Papertrey Ink and then embossed it with an embossing folder from Lifestyle Crafts.  The sentiment is from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set.  I love this color combo and the dimension of the embossing paste and also the dry embossing on the butterfly.

Well, that is it for me today.  I hope to be able to post another card or two tomorrow!  Stay warm.

Love You Today, Tomorrow & Forever

What do I do when I can't sleep at 3 am?  I come downstairs to my crap room and play with paper!!!  That makes me happy :)

Last night was a really rough night.  I woke up at 3 and was WIDE AWAKE!!  UGH!  So I came downstairs to my crap room and whipped up a quick little card using the Teresa Collins Family Stories line.  I love how this turned out.  Quick, clean and simple and I love the colors, they make me happy :)

It is freezing here (actually it is 20 degrees outside right now, brrrr!) and it will be cold all weekend, so I plan on getting lots of crafty time, so hopefully I will be back with another card tomorrow!  Stay warm!

Thanks for stopping by!

You're Too Kind

I'm back with another card that I made earlier while tidying/playing.  I was playing around with some techniques that I will be teaching in my card classes next week and made this earthy, rustic looking card.  The technique uses distress ink, water and background stamps.  I hope the ladies enjoy it!  I die cut some flowers out of burlap and inked the edges.  I love these large sentiments by Papertrey Ink.  They really make a statement.

Again, I wish you all the best for 2014!!  I hope to get better at editing my photos and do more blogging this year.

With Love

Happy New Year!!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years!

We had a lovely Christmas.  All the kids were here and it was very low key, but very nice.  We stayed up to watch the ball drop last night and then headed to bed.  We must be getting old, ha!

Anyway, I tidied my crap room up today and then had some time to play.  I made a fun little card using some scraps and leftovers.

I tried to get a photo outside, but it was too dark already and so I had to take it in my crap room, which is very dark, so please excuse the photo.  I reached for my 24/7 6x6 pad by Simple Stories and some scraps that I had laying around.  I used some fun little label letters by Tim Holtz.  They are perfect for making your own sentiments!  I had the black heart diecuts by Lawn Fawn on my desk and I applied glossy accents over them.  The tag was cut using my cameo and I popped that up! Quick and fun little card.  I love using tags on my cards and I die cut a whole bunch of them just to have on hand.

Anyway, Happy New Year and I wish you all the best for 2014!
